Plastic Free Logistics

Leading the shift to replace plastic stretchfilm by circular alternatives

Plastic Free Logistics

Plastic-Free Transport, an initiative by Cleantech 2050, is a non-profit mission designed to eradicate single-use plastics in international trade. We don’t just point out the problem: we build the bridge to the solution.

Through our European Guide to Sustainable Logistics, we democratize access to high-performance circular alternatives. We collaborate with manufacturers and innovators to scale technologies that protect both your cargo and the planet, transforming the supply chain today to secure the future of 2050.

Did you know...?

In Europe, more than 79 million tonnes of packaging waste are generated annually. While conventional plastic recycling capacity is declining, the need to transport goods safely continues to grow.

The Gap: Pallet stretch film is one of the most significant pollutants and among the most difficult materials to process within the current system.

Our Response: We facilitate the transition to fiber-based materials (paper) and invisible stabilization technologies that are already prepared to meet the European 2030 targets.

Leading the transition toward a plastic-free global logistics.

The Cleantech 2050: Zero Plastic Award

Honoring the architects of a plastic-free supply chain.

We don't just celebrate the destination; we reward the momentum. This annual recognition is granted to European companies that are actively closing the gap between traditional logistics and circular innovation.

Award Tiers

  • The Zero Gold: For companies that have successfully eliminated 100% of single-use plastics (including stretch film) from their primary shipping routes.

  • The Transition Silver: For those who have reached 75%+ of their reduction targets through the adoption of fiber-base and invisible stabilization.

  • The Circular Catalyst: For the most innovative pilot project or "Proof of Concept" that scales the use of paper-based alternatives.

Why enter?

  1. EU 2030 Readiness: Prove your compliance with upcoming European packaging regulations ahead of the curve.

  2. The "2050 Seal": Use our exclusive winner's badge on your website, transport vehicles, and ESG reports.

  3. Global Network: Get featured in the European Guide to Sustainable Logistics as a preferred partner for eco-conscious shippers.

The "Zero" Criteria

The jury evaluates three core metrics:

  1. Reduction Velocity: How fast are you moving away from plastic?

  2. Material Integrity: Are you using truly circular, fiber-based alternatives?

  3. Scalability: Can your solution be applied across the entire EU logistics network?

Ready to lead the shift?

Activities

Turning Intent into Industry Change

The European Sustainable Logistics Guide

Our flagship initiative is a comprehensive, visual catalog of circular alternatives to traditional pallet wrapping. We bridge the information gap by providing logistics managers with a clear, searchable database of high-performance solutions, moving the industry from "knowing there's a problem" to "implementing the solution

Manufacturer Support & Ecosystem Building

We actively collaborate with innovators and manufacturers of sustainable materials to bring their solutions to the forefront. By aggregating available market alternatives, we provide a platform for plastic-free technologies to reach the companies that need them most, fostering a robust ecosystem of circular logistics providers.

Advocacy & Awareness

We take the stage at global seminars, trade fairs, and industry events to challenge the status quo. As a non-profit voice, we highlight the environmental urgency of plastic-free transit and demonstrate to decision-makers that a circular supply chain is not only necessary but achievable today.
